- 4870 The Inkjet Endorser of the Ricoh IS-510/520 uses an ASCII string
- 4871 to determine what to print on each page. The string, up to 80 characters in length,
- 4872 is searched for the occurance of a sequence of the special character "%"
- 4873 which will be replaced with an incrementing page count for each
- 4874 page scanned. Only the first occurance of the special sequence will
- 4875 have the page count substituted. For example the string:\n\n
- 4876 "INTERNAL REFERENCE ID #600-XYZ%%%%%% FOOBAR"\n\n
- 4877 will have the "%%%%%%" portion the string replaced with a six
- 4878 digit, zero padded page count for each page. This string will be
- 4879 printed vertically on the page as it passes through the scanner.\n\n
- 4880 Printable characters include:\n\n
- 4881 <space>0123456789-_/\#.][()=+<>ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ\n\n
- 4882 Use Printing Offset to specify how far down from the top of the page
- 4883 the endorser should begin printing. This distance in specified in millimeters.
- 4900 The values in this dialog are used to perform X / Y calibration when scanning
- 4901 pages. Most of these values will be stored in the scanner's EEPROMs upon leaving
- 4902 This application. If you do not know what this means, or are unsure if you need this,
- 4903 you should probably exit this dialog.\n\n
- 4904 Calibration in the X (sub scanning or horizontal) direction may be changed through
- 4905 the 'Front X Offset' and 'Back X Offset' parameters. These values are independent
- 4906 of resolution; their units are in 400 dots per inch. Increasing these values will case
- 4907 the scan to begin further to the right of the page.\n\n
- 4908 Calibration in the Y (main scanning or vertical) direction may be changed through
- 4909 the 'Front Y Offset' and 'Back Y Offset' parameters. Note that these values are
- 4910 different depending on resolution. Increasing these values will cause the scan to
- 4911 begin lower on the page.\n\n
- 4912 Motor speed determines how fast the page is fed past the camera. Increasing this value
- 4913 will make the page appear shorter in the Y direction; decreasing it will make the page
- 4914 appear longer.\n\n
- 4915 The best way to fix your calibration is to change these numbers, then scan a page
- 4916 and look at the results, then re-change these numbers accordingly. To scan a page,
- 4917 hit the appropriate scan button ('200 dpi', '300 dpi', '400 dpi').\n\n
- 4918 Other parameters, 'Endorser Speed' and 'Endorser Y Offset' are used only if you have
- 4919 an endorser installed. They determine the printing speed and vertical offset of the
- 4920 output, respectively. Increasing the speed, will make the letters narrower; increasing
- 4921 the offset will make the string start lower on the page. These values are stored in
- 4922 the setscan.ini file, not the scanner's EEPROMS.
- 4930 WARNING: At least one of the settings has been changed from its default value.\n
- 4931 If you hit 'Yes' to accept this change, it will be written to the scanner's
- 4932 EEPROM for permanent storage when the driver is unloaded. The driver is usually
- 4933 unloaded upon quitting the scanning application.\n
- 4934 To revert settings to their default values, hit 'No', then hit the Cancel or
- 4935 'Last Saved Values' button.\n\nDo you wish to continue?
- 4940 Some of the factory settings appear to be invalid.
- 4941 Do you still wish to use them?\n\n
- 4942 Hit 'Yes' to use them, 'No' to use Pixel Translations defaults,
- 4943 or 'Cancel' to abort.
